A Dry Creek Valley Social: Commons & Community
The Dry Creek Valley Association and Winegrowers of Dry Creek Valley joined together for fun, fellowship, and exchange of ideas...
Date: Thursday, May 28, 2009
Time: 4:30 - 7:00 PM
Where: Preston of Dry Creek, 9282 West Dry Creek Road
What to Bring: Winegrowers were asked to bring a Dry Creek wine! DCVA members were asked to bring appetizers, homemade preferred!
One hundred and sixty valley residents celebrate the good things we share here and discussed the challenges. Besides the usual fine food and wine there were focus tables on various topics of interest such as sourcing local food, water issues and the pipeline, volunteer opportunities, and a Dry Creek Suggestion Box...
The Dry Creek Neighbors were congratulated on 100 years of operation. Attendees had their questions ready: Where do we get fresh and seasonal local produce? Neighborhood experts were busy answering inquiries about aquifers, pipelines, and wastewater. How do you get involved with the Geyserville Fire Department, Food Pantry, Dry Creek Clean-Up crew, or the Gleaners? What is a Gleaner? Presidents of both the DCVA and WDVA, Ed Wilson and Greg Chambers--were there to discuss questions, ideas, and vision for the future of Dry Creek.
Check back for the "suggestions" made by your fellow valley residents. They will be posted soon!
