How do I use the online text editor? Print E-mail

User MenuUse the User Menu

You use the same text editor regardless whether you access it from the 'My Blog Dashboard' or the 'Submit an Article'  link in the USER MENU (only visible/available to registered members in the right column). The usage is straight-forward - see below:

Use the Text Editor

With the online text editor you can create bold italic or underlined, strikethrough, superscripted, and subscripted text at the click of a button. You can color text, highlight text create hyperlinks, change the font, insert images, create numbered or bulleted lists and more. You can also indent the text:

There is no need to know anything about HTML; the online text will generate all the HTML for you. Click the Source tag to see the HTML code that the editor has generated.

Use the Read More Function

To divide the text into an intro and a main section (accessible via the 'Read more' link at the end of the intro) click on the isertion point and then go to the bottom of the editor screen and click on the 'Read more' button.

In the text editor a dotted red line will appear showing the separation line.

Very important!

Never just close the editor screen or click away! Always click either on the 'Save' or 'Cancel' button in the upper right hand corner of the editor screen.

Use the HTML/Source View

You can always see the HTML code you are writing or preview the content by going to the bottom of the editor screen:

Use the Publishing Options

Underneath the text editor screen you find a window for publishing options. The options presented there are mostly self-explanatory. If you don't know what to do here just leave it alone. Our editor/publisher will make the appropriate choices.
